Abadi: Reconstruction will create thousands of jobs for Iraqis
Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said on Tuesday that reconstruction will create thousands of job opportunities for Iraqis, noting that there is a plan to be Iraq within the world’s top 20 economic group.
“We have a plan to move Iraq to be part of the 20th largest economic group in the world and we will achieve this with our cooperation and unity,” Abadi told a news conference before heading to Kuwait to participate in the reconstruction conference held in Iraq.
“Reconstruction will create thousands of job opportunities for Iraqis,” Abbadi said. “We are moving towards a new phase in which a strong, victorious and united Iraq is the symbol of our strength.”
The prime minister said that “our interest in Basra is essential, and we will work to impose security and reconstruction of this province to be a kiss for investors,” stressing that “the turn of the international community on Iraq is positive and we must invest to support the interests of Iraq.”
On Tuesday morning, the conference “Invest in Iraq”, organized by Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was launched as part of the second day of the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.
It is noteworthy that the Kuwait International Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, which is a meeting against the organization “Dahesh” within it, will be held from 12 to 14 February, with the participation of a number of donor countries, and international and regional organizations, and the presidency of five bodies, , Kuwait, the United Nations and the World Bank), with the aim of mobilizing momentum to alleviate the suffering of the millions of displaced and affected Iraqi victims of the war on terror, as well as the reconstruction of areas free of terrorism and areas in need of assistance.
