They targeted American forces … two rockets landed near Baghdad airport
Al-Arabiya correspondent reported, at dawn on Monday, that two rockets landed near Baghdad International Airport, in an attack targeting American forces.
Last Thursday, two Iraqi military sources said that two mortar bombs landed inside Balad Air Force Base in Iraq.
The two sources added that there were no reports of casualties in the attack.
For its part, the security media cell confirmed that two Katyusha rockets had landed on Balad Air Force Base in Salah al-Din Governorate without any human or material losses.
Al-Balad hosts American forces and contractors located about 80 km north of Baghdad.
On Tuesday, five missiles struck the Ain al-Assad air base, which hosts American forces in Anbar Province, western Iraq, without casualties.
Security sources say indirect missile attacks are common in Iraq, and are often attributed to Iran-backed militias. Source
