Deputy: Federal Court decision is expected and election results will not change significantly
MP Salim Shawqi said on Thursday that the decision of the Federal Court was expected, pointing out that the results of the elections will not change significantly.
“The decision of the Federal Court was expected, especially as it came within the constitutional term of the House of Representatives on the re-counting and manual counting and the assignment of judges to run the electoral process.”
He added that “the cancellation of the election results we formed from the beginning and this has never happened except by a parliamentary decision or when proven fraud in the judicial bodies in charge of running the electoral process.”
He pointed out that “the change in the results of the elections will not be significantly and perhaps add some things that did not affect the final results,” explaining that “the alliance of Suron and Fatah, wisdom and patriotism is the achievement of the majority of the national and the progress of the Prime Minister.”
The Federal Court announced, earlier in the day, the legitimacy of the third amendment to the election law voted by parliament. Source
