Al-Kazemi and Johnson agree to proceed with a strategic cooperation that includes multiple axes

The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, met today, Thursday, in the British capital London, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, at the end of his European tour that also included France and Germany.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, a copy of which was received by the Al Furat News Agency, stated, “The discussion of issues of common concern, the review of all developments and political and security positions in Iraq and the region, and the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in a way that serves peace and local and regional stability.”

The statement added that “during the meeting, it was agreed on more cooperation between Baghdad and London, in the field of combating terrorism, and also in the political and economic sphere, in light of the economic challenges that Iraq faces due to the decline in global oil prices and the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, and moving forward with strategic cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom, including multiple axes.” Source
