Al-Kazemi receives an American delegation to discuss the withdrawal of combat forces from Iraq
The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, received, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, an American government delegation, headed by the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett McGurk.
The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated that Al-Kazemi received the US government delegation headed by the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett McGurk, and included US State Department advisor Derek Chollet, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Joy Hed, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Middle East Affairs. The statement added that the meeting discussed coordination and joint cooperation in various fields, and emphasized the activation of the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States of America, especially with regard to the withdrawal of combat forces from Iraq and the development and expansion of cooperation in the economic, cultural and commercial fields.
The statement pointed out that during the meeting, the issue of cooperation in the health field and combating the Corona pandemic was discussed, as well as assistance in providing support for the rehabilitation of some health institutions in Iraq.
