[VIDEO] Trump on Killing of Iran’s Soleimani: We Took Action to Stop War
The United States took action and killed Iran’s Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani to stop a war, not to start a war, said US President Donald Trump in an official statement from the White House.
Describing the Iranian commander as “number 1 terrorist anywhere in the world”, Trump said Solemani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but he was caught in action by the US forces.
The US president blamed Soleimani for the recent rocket attack on Kirkuk K1 military base where one US civilian contractor was killed and four other troops were wounded. He also said the assault on the US embassy in Baghdad was orchestrated by the Iranian commander.
“We take comfort of knowing that his reign of terror is over,” Trump pointed out.

“We do not seek regime change, however, the Iranian regime’s aggressions, including the use of proxy fighters to de-stabalize its neighbors must end and must end now,” he added. Source
