Iran: Coronavirus Cases Climb to nearly 30,000
A total of 2,389 Iranians tested positive for the new coronavirus within the past 24 hours alone, said a spokesperson for the country’s health ministry on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran, Kianoosh Jahangiri said the total number of COVID-19 cases across Iran has now reached 29,406.
He also confirmed that 157 coronavirus patients died since yesterday noon, bringing the death toll from the pandemic disease up to 2,234.
Tehran, Qom, Gilan, Esfahan, Alborz, and Mazandaran have the highest number of infections and death tolls.
Jahangiri also noted that 10,457 people had already been discharged from the hospital after they fully recovered from coronavirus. Source
