Iraq Extends Flight Suspension Again
Iraq on Friday extended the suspension of flights once again while the total number of coronavirus infections in the country reached 1,279.
Speaking to BasNews, Dana Mohammed, a spokesperson for Sulaimaniya Airport, explained that according to a statement by Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority, the temporary halt of flights would continue until April 18.
The decision is also for Kurdistan Region’s airports, without affecting the cargo planes or those aircrafts which belong to Red Crescent and Red Cross, Mohammed further explained.
The Iraqi health ministry on Friday announced 47 new cases of COVID-19, noting that 70 patients have so far lost their lives while 550 others fully recovered from the virus. Source
