Saving Iraq from Regional Tensions Is Next Government’s Top Priority: PM-Designate
Among the top priorities of the upcoming Iraqi government is saving Iraq from regional tensions, said Mustafa Kadhimi, the new Prime Minister-designate of Iraq.
Kadhimi discussed his cabinet agenda with a group of journalists and intellectuals in Baghdad on Wednesday, saying that finding a feasible framework for the US military presence is also on his to-do list.
Iraq should not be used as the battleground for the tensions between Iran and the United States, he emphasized.
Concerning his cabinet, Kadhimi said the lineup is ready now, and that he was in negotiation with political factions to secure their approval before presenting the cabinet at the parliament. Source
