Iranian Commander Killed in Clash with Opposition Groups
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) revealed on Tuesday that one of its commanders had been killed during clashes with the opposition groups in Sanandaj province.
According to a report by the semi-official Mehr news agency, two of the commander’s guards were also killed during the clashes that occurred near the area of Diwandar, Sanandaj province.
The commander was identified as Shakiba Salimy, and the other two as Jaafar Nizampour and Mohammed Shokri.
It was not immediately clear which opposition group did carry out the attack while no sides have claimed responsibility for it. Source
