Sadr Gives New Iraqi PM 100 Days to Carry out Reform
Iraq’s populist politician and powerful cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has given the country’s new Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhim 100 days to bring about reforms.
Sadr, who leads the largest faction of Sairoon at the Iraqi parliament, delivered the message in a statement attributed to a spokesperson.
The statement said Sadr believes that Kadhim is a serious man who loves his country.
However, this serious man is given 100 days to implement the plan of his cabinet that was introduced during a parliamentary session last Saturday when the lawmakers approved 15 ministers of Kadhimi’s cabinet.
As a populist politician, Sadr often threatens to trigger massive protests across Iraq to put pressure on the government to create better life conditions. Source
