Iraq’s PM Sends Names of Remaining Cabinet Nominees to Parliament
Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has sent the names of his remaining cabinet nominees to the Council of Representatives.
The office of Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi confirmed in a statement that the parliament had received a list of seven names for the vacant posts.
According to Iraqi reports, Fuad Hussein, the country’s former finance minister, was among the seven nominees for the position of foreign minister.
The Iraqi parliament is now expected to vote on the candidates.
Earlier on May 7, the parliament approved the majority of Kadhimi’s proposed candidates while it rejected five nominees.
The other six nominees are for the ministries of oil, Justice, culture, agriculture, trade, migration and displacement. Source
