Face Covering Mandatory in Public: KRG
Wearing face masks has now become mandatory in public as well as all government offices in the Kurdistan Region. Legal actions would be taken against those violating the new rules.
The new measures were decided to be taken during a meeting of Kurdistan Coronavirus Task Force on Wednesday which was chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
Based on the new protective measures, a travel ban between the provinces will remain in place.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) also decided to allocate 5 billion IQD as part of the special fund for the Health Ministry to help the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
The new protective measures came in response to a new wave of coronavirus outbreak in the Kurdistan Region where 1,646 infections have so far been confirmed with 30 deaths and 546 recoveries. Source
