Turkey Claims It “Neutralized” 41 PKK Fighters on Kurdistan Border
Turkey’s National Defense Ministry claimed on Monday that it had “neutralized” 41 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in its recent operations in the Kurdistan Region border areas.
The ministry noted that the PKK fighters were “neutralized” during Ankara’s ongoing “Operation Claw-Tiger” in the border areas of Kurdistan Region where the Turkish forces also seized “a large number of weapons and ammunition”.
“All our troops burst on the pre-determined areas with attacking air operations. They are working day and night, and the efforts are ongoing to take these regions under control,” Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, as cited by Anadolu Agency.
“We have achieved notable successes with our efforts so far. 41 terrorists have been neutralized, a large number of weapons, ammunition, tools, and life-sustaining materials belonging to the terrorists have been seized,” Akar added.
Turkey views the PKK as a “terrorist organisation” and there is a decades-long military confrontation between the two sides over the Kurdish question in the country. Source
