Explosion Reported at Power Plant in Central Iran
An explosion rocked a power plant in Iran’s central province of Isfahan earlier on Sunday, officials confirmed.
State-run IRNA news agency cited chief executive of Esfahan Power Generation Co. as saying that the blast had not disrupted the plant’s electricity supply to customers.
The official stated that the damaged equipment had already been replaced and that the station had resumed its operation about two hours after the explosion.
The explosion was reportedly caused by a technical problem.
No one was hurt in the incident, IRNA added.
Today’s explosion comes after several other explosions in Iran which led to speculations of foreign involvements.
Earlier this month, an explosion ripped through Iran’s Natanz facility for enriching uranium, in which several reports claimed that Israel had a role. Source
