Iraqi Delegation Arrives in Washington
A delegation from the Iraqi government arrived in Washington on Monday night ahead of the second round of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, who is leading the delegation, revealed to TRT World media agency that the main aim of the dialogue is to “reshape and reform” the ties between Baghdad and Washington.
Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi is expected to travel to the US on August 20 where he will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House.
The talks will begin with a meeting between Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his US counterpart, Mike Pompeo, Ahmed Mullah Talal, a spokesperson for the Iraqi government, told reporters. Source
