Bashar al-Assad’s Uncle Dies from COVID-19: Report
Mohamad Makhlouf, a prominent Syrian businessman and uncle of Bashar Assad, the president of the Syrian regime, died due to coronavirus on Saturday, a report said.
Speaking to AFP, two sources, said to be close to his family, confirmed the report and noted that Makhlouf, 88, lost his life on Saturday after several days in the hospital.
The renowned businessman was reportedly taken to a hospital in the capital Damascus earlier on August 23, according to local media reports.
Makhlouf’s businesses had already been handed over to his son, Rami Makhlouf. Source
