US-Backed Kurdish Forces Capture IS Members in East of Syria

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested at least two members of the Islamic State (IS) in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The individuals were arrested during an operation led by the SDF on the ground and supported by the US aircrafts in the air.

Multiple weapons and ammunition were seized during the raid, according to the report.

On February 17, SOHR sources monitored the SDF storming areas in Al-Tayana town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, arresting three people, two of whom were of the same family. No information was reported on the reasons behind the arrest.
