Iraqi Electoral Commission Says Determined to Hold Election in October
The Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq said in statement on Tuesday that it will not postpone the October parliamentary elections in the country under any circumstances.
Despite various challenges, Iraq has scheduled a snap election for 10 October in hopes of addressing the prolonged political tensions in the county.
The electoral commission said that the electoral lists and alliances are allowed to register until 1st May to proceed with the preparations.
It also encouraged people to take part in the polls and determine the future of Iraq’s politics with their votes.
