Trump Has “Some Plans” to Visit Iraq, Afghanistan

US President Donald Trump has revealed that he has “some plans” to visit his country’s troops currently deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Well, I think you will see that happen,” Trump answered when Fox News asked if he will ever visit the US troops in the war zones as former presidents Obama and Bush both did.

“There are things that are being planned.  We don’t want to talk about it because of — obviously because of security reasons and everything else,” the president explained.

Thousands of US military personnel are believed to have currently been stationed in Iraq as part of the international campaign battling the Islamic State (IS).

However, the US forces are opposed by Iranian-backed militias of Hashd al-Shaabi in the country. The militias have, on different occasions, threatened to attack the US troops if they refuse to leave Iraq when the war on terror will come to an end. Source
