Formation of a joint trade council between Vietnam and Iran

Iran and Vietnam have set up a joint trade council for the first time since 44 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, with the aim of promoting bilateral trade of two billion dollars in the near future.

The council began its activities on Wednesday with a meeting between Vietnamese private and public businessmen with Vietnam’s Agriculture Minister Nueen Suan Kong and the chairman of the Vietnam-Iran Joint Commission, in the presence of the Iranian ambassador to Hanoi Saleh Adibe.

Some 60 Vietnamese merchants and businessmen participated in the meeting.
