Government Of Kurdistan Establishing A Free Trade Zone With Iran

The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region that his government began to establish a free trade zone between the region and Iran,

Barzani said in a speech during the opening of the Conference on the development of economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran, held in Erbil, that there are 359 companies, and 135 Iranian factories operating in the region.

While Barazani called the federal government in Baghdad to approve the registration of five border ports between Kurdistan and Iran formally.

He added that the government of Kurdistan has made serious efforts in developing economic and trade relations with Iran, including the opening of a free trade zone at the border crossing “Parvizkhan” between the two sides, but said that the opening of the free zone still needs to take further steps from Iraq and the region.
