Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi revealed, on Tuesday, the possibility of the next prime minister, Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, to dissolve the House of Representatives in the event of an agreement with the President of the Republic.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to “Al-Akhbaria” that “there is nothing in the constitution called early elections, but general elections that are in one case stipulated by Article 64 of the Constitution, which authorized the dissolution of Parliament and the holding of early elections within two months of the date of the solution.”
He added, “The next Prime Minister, Muhammad Allawi, cannot dissolve Parliament alone, except with the approval of the President of the Republic, which is any Allawi.
