Next Monday .. an “exceptional” parliamentary session to vote on the government of Muhammad Allawi

A parliamentary source confirmed today, Friday, the agreement to hold an extraordinary parliamentary session to vote on the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi next Monday.

The source said to “Al-Akhbaria”: “The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, has disclosed that Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi has sent an official letter to Parliament requesting an extraordinary session to vote on the new government.”

The source added: “The House of Representatives will hold an extraordinary session next Monday, especially after the resignation of the resigned Prime Minister’s book, and according to a request submitted by 76 deputies and in accordance with the provisions of Article 58 of the Constitution.”

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi called on the House of Representatives and members to hold an extraordinary session in order to vote on granting confidence to the government next Monday. Source
