Minor changes to the names of the “Muhammad Allawi” cabins are conditional on the Kurds agreeing to support the government
Informed political sources said today, Wednesday, that Kurdish parties continue to consult with Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi on forming a government, stressing that the division is still continuing and dominates the meetings between the political parties, especially throughout the last night.
The sources told Al-Ikhbaria: “The efforts of the commissioner, Mohammed Allawi, are now focused on trying to persuade the Kurds to join the team supporting his government, after the Iraqi Forces Alliance headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi announced his official opposition and not to vote for the government, in a clear and strong thickening of the principle of quotas and sharing ministries.”
She added, “We expect that some minor changes will occur to the names of Allawi’s lineup, if the Kurds agree to support him,” noting that this matter “will not be easy in light of the feverish political struggle to obtain the ministries in the new government.”
The last day’s consultations to form the government of the Prime Minister-designate, Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, witness an intense movement by his team to resolve many outstanding issues, before the exceptional voting session, to be held tomorrow, Thursday, in order to give confidence to the government.
