The Directorate revealed that based on the orders of the Director of Military Intelligence to monitor the smuggling operations and prosecute smugglers, the detachments of the Military Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the forces of the 51th Infantry Brigade, thwarted a large oil smuggling operation.
It also added that its forces managed to arrest the smugglers and trucks in al-Zab area, in Kirkuk Province. The smugglers and trucks were sent to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal procedures.
Earlier last month, Iraqi police forces seized two trucks which were used to smuggle crude oil from a pipeline in Kirkuk Province, where the smugglers used an extended 20-meter plastic pipe long to siphon the crude oil. Source
