The Government approves the establishment of an advanced military industry base in Iraq
The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced on Monday the government’s approval of the draft law of the Military Industrialization Commission, pointing out that the draft law aims at establishing an advanced base for military industries in Iraq.
The Cabinet said in a statement received by the agency [Media treasures], a copy of it, “The Council of Ministers approved at its 19th session held mid-May on the draft law of the Industrialization Commission, and decided to refer the draft law, which was examined by the Council of States to the House of Representatives on the basis of the provisions of Articles ( 61 / item I and 80 / item II) of the Constitution. “
In its statement, the Secretariat added that “the law of the Military Industrialization Corporation comes within the framework of the importance of military industries in establishing and achieving national security and benefiting from national expertise and contributing to securing the military action of the national security ministries.”
“The law also aims to establish an advanced base for the military industries in Iraq through the establishment of specialized factories in this field and rehabilitation of the existing ones and equipped with the latest technology and techniques and the use of the potential of the private sector and the opportunity to participate actively in the military industries and meet the needs of the armed forces of Weapons and ammunition and support the national economy by ending or reducing the import of weapons and equipment and the production of civilian materials and the export of surplus, as well as contribute to the maintenance of national security and the strengthening of national sovereignty.
