Campaign to grant Iraqis cash share of oil revenues

Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: MP Alian Nsaif media office reported moves to collect signatures to issue
a parliamentary order to grant the Iraqi citizen a share in the exported oil revenues.

The move is to get 50 approvals for this proposal.

The office suggested that the paid amounts shall be cashed with the national ration card procedures.  No other details were given.

GodLover:  The outcome of this could be interesting imo. For years I had figured the oil profits to citizens would come after a change in rate. I think a few weeks back something was stated in an article that made me change my thinking on this subject.

Samson:  The Baghdad International Fair begins its 45th session

The work of the 45th session of the Baghdad International Fair under the slogan of “Determined to Build and Build as Liberation and Victory” began on Saturday, November 10-19, under the auspices of the federal government.

The Baghdad International Fair kicked off on Saturday morning with the presence of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and a number of government officials

The main participating countries are Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Indonesia, India, Italy, France, Japan, South Korea and Syria

“More than 17 countries and 20 local bodies participated in the Baghdad exhibition at its current session, ” Commerce Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani said on the sidelines of the opening of the 45th Baghdad International Fair

He added that “the Iraqi market is ready to receive foreign investment,” noting that “the Iraqi sectors have begun serious steps for development through investment capacity and cooperation with international companies

On the other hand, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Saturday, work on the development of the Iraqi economy, while noting that the obstacles still exist to carry out investment projects

Abdul Mahdi said in a speech during the opening of the Baghdad International Fair, and attended by “Economy News“, “one of the priorities of the government is to work on the development of the Iraqi economy,” stressing the need to “provide an appropriate investment environment for launching projects

Abdul-Mahdi said that “the obstacles still exist to carry out investment projects,” calling for the contribution to reconstruction for the benefit of all

Samson:  Minister of Trade: The government program represents a real gateway for the development of the Iraqi economy

Minister of Commerce Mohammed Hashim al-Ani said on Saturday that the new government program represents a real gateway for the development and activation of the Iraqi economy, stressing Iraq’s keenness to maintain unity of cooperation and solidarity with the countries of the world.

Al-Ani said in a speech at the start of the 45th session of the Baghdad International Fair and his follow-up / information, that  “the launch of the 45th session of the Baghdad International Fair and attendees and the special participations comes in the context of Iraq’s keenness to strengthen economic capabilities and development,” noting “Iraq’s keenness to maintain Unity of cooperation and solidarity with the countries of the world”.

Al-Ani added that “Iraq is considered through the new economic orientation environment for investments,” noting that his ministry “is working to activate the government program voted by the House of Representatives, which is a real gateway to develop the Iraqi economy.”

The 45th session of the Baghdad International Fair under the slogan “Determined to Build and Build, as well as Liberation and Victory” began on Saturday and will last for ten days.   LINK

Samson:  Seven suspects were arrested, including counterfeit currency in Baghdad

Baghdad Operations Command announced on Saturday the arrest of seven accused, including forged currency in the capital.

The command said in a statement received by “Al-Gharab Press,” a copy of it, “The security forces of the Baghdad Operations Command was able to arrest three accused of theft in the regions of Jock and Bayaa.”

“Two suspects have been arrested in the Jekuk and Algiers districts, while a defendant was charged with premeditated murder in the Um al-Kabir and Ghazlan area and another accused of counterfeiting the cash currency and seized $ 7,800 in the Algiers district,” it said.    LINK

Samson:  Sources: Dabbas Bank embezzled 900 billion dinars of Iraqi funds

Political activist Sadiq al-Moussawi said Friday (November 9th, 2018) that investigations have shown that Fadhil al-Dabbas Bank embezzled 900 billion dinars.

The investigations proved that Fadhil Dabbas Bank has embezzled 900 billion dinars from the central bank’s money with the participation of politicians,” Moussawi said in his blog on a page bearing his name in Facebook, confirming that “the evidence is sound recordings.” The “obelisk” could not confirm the authenticity of the Moussawi page.

The document issued by the Central Bank of Iraq on 6 November 2018 reported the status of Fadel Dabbas Bank under guardianship as a result of the Bank’s failure to comply with orders and decisions issued by the bank, and failure to meet its financial obligations due.

On November 19, 2017, the Court of Inquiry issued an arrest warrant against the accused Fadel Jassim Mohammed Aziz al-Dabbas in accordance with article 456 of the Penal Code.

Dabbas, who was an employee of the Directorate of Civil Defense before 2003, became overnight trader and businessman owned many companies and banks, including: Al-Amal Commercial Brokers, the North Bank, the United Bank, and then sought to politics through steps and projects, most notably the “coalition of Iraq.

He also decided to participate in the political process through the establishment of a space in 2014 to serve his directions and was the most prominent lies announced Dabbas, the allocation of 150 thousand dinars for each unemployed graduate, where thousands of young people sent their files, and was doomed to burn.

Samson:  Deputy reveals the involvement of Inspector General of the Ministry of Health wasted $ 95 million in corruption deals

The deputy inspector general of the Ministry of Health, Javad al-Moussawi, revealed on Saturday that $ 95 million in corruption deals had been lost.

“Based on our monitoring role and on the basis of Articles 82, 83, 85 and 80 of the House of Representatives’ rules of procedure, we have evidence and documents indicating suspicions of the involvement of the Inspector General of the Ministry of Health,” Moussawi told a news conference in the House of Representatives.

And the current environment in attempts to close the files of corruption and waste large public money related to contracts to establish hospitals capacity (400) beds in the provinces of Iraq (Babel, Karbala, Dhi Qar, Basra, Maysan, Najaf).

He added that “the initial value of the lost amounts was up to (90) million dollars, where all the decisions issued by the Secretariat were ignored in connection with the confirmation of the right of the Ministry of Health to recover the lost funds and the failure to identify the defaulters,” while calling for the formation of an investigative committee in the matter.
