Frank26: A MIRACLE IS WHAT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE ………….. BUT HAPPENS ANYWAYS.
Libertyu78: Great stuff happening. Can’t wait for the budget to come out. We know the new taxes will kill them if they don’t RI. Another pressure point. But Frank, if it was signed when you suspect, shouldn’t it be out now? Are they playing games again to take the full 15+3 days and pretending it’s not signed?

Mike100: Honestly IMHO many of us need to be grateful the world bank is threatening Iraq if it werent for that they would continue their evil deeds of corruption and theft, Abadi can only do so much, they have stolen for decades .
Remember the politicians in Iraq are like children they constantly have to be told what to do and be threatened …its sad but it is what it is.
With elections coming and the kurds now getting their 14% I think they wil move forward alot quicker now than they were. Lots of pressure on Abadi right now if he wants the support of the U.S to secure his spot as PM and satisfy the WB and IMF monetary reform must get done before May.
Popeye7: Seems the 21st is an important day of this month as the news indicates… It will fulfill the 15 day period for the budget to be signed, and the 3 day period for it to be placed in the Gazette for its finality…
The 1st day of spring is on the 20th, lets focus on that day… 3/20/2018….
This would be a date that would appeal to the IMF’s spokesperson Christine Lagarde… If we compress this date we come up with the final sum of 7…. 3+2+2+1+8=16… 1+6=7…

World Bank may sanction Iraq for ‘non-compliance’
The World Bank may sanction Iraq for non-compliance, Iraqi economist Manaf al-Sayegh said on Monday.
In a statement, Sayegh said that the World Bank cannot halt or impede voting on 2018 budget as it is considered Iraqi internal affair, adding it only can punish Iraq by preventing it from borrowing.
It may also impose a special fiscal policy that makes it financially burdensome for Iraq and it may suffer for years because of sanctions
Al-Sayegh stressed that it is better for Iraq to submit its new financial policy to the bank after the approval of the budget.
The World Bank in Iraq manager Yara Salem has criticized the mismanagement of Iraqi economy due to the increase of public servants who are redundant.
She stressed the importance of the partnership between the private and public sectors amid the challenges facing public corporations.
Salem confirmed that Iraqi economy is suffering from many problems including unemployment and high production costs of the public companies.
These problems are main obstacles that contest reform and reconstruction process. link
