Samson: Two Iranians were arrested in possession of millions of fake Iraqi dinars in Sulaymaniyah

On Tuesday, the Sulaymaniyah Governorate Police Directorate announced the arrest of two people holding Iranian nationality and in possession of counterfeit money, which they intended to dispose of in the local markets in the province.

The directorate said in a statement received by Shafaq News today, that after receiving information about two people in possession of fake money intending to be disposed in the market of the city of Sulaymaniyah, the emergency police department detachments immediately began to open an investigation and managed to reach the specified location, indicating that the accused were arrested inside the aforementioned market They are Iranians, and they seized in their possession fake sums of money amounting to seven million denominations of fifty thousand Iraqi dinars with a check of 10 million tomans.

The statement added that the defendants (S, S), born in 1994, and (B and M), born in 1990, were imprisoned according to a judicial decision, while investigations continued with them.  LINK

Samson:  Parliamentary integrity: Corruption has become a monster, and the government’s actions are informational only

Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hassan Shaker Al-Kaabi, warned, Tuesday, that the phenomenon of corruption in Iraq has become enormous during the last period.

“Billions of dollars have been stolen by the corrupt during the past period,” Al-Kaabi said in a statement to the news agency, noting that “the scourge of corruption has grown enormously at all levels.”

He added that “most of the corruption files need more time to resolve them,” stressing that his committee “has taken serious steps to gradually open all files in all ministries and their subsidiaries.”

And he called for “finding solutions to eradicate this scourge through deterrent and decisive steps.”

Yesterday, Monday, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee described the work of the Anti-Corruption Committee headed by Al-Kazemi as a hostile and turned into another curve, while describing the methods of detention that are taking place as brutal and vengeful.   LINK


Samson:  The US State Department honors the Director of the Payments Department at the Central Bank for its efforts in fighting corruption

The US Embassy in Baghdad said, Tuesday, that the US State Department honored the Director of the Payments Department at the Central Bank of Iraq, for her contribution to establishing credit card infrastructure, digital payment of salaries and the elimination of aliens

The embassy said in a post, “Congratulations to Mrs. Duha Muhammad on being honored by the US Secretary of State for her pioneering work in combating corruption in Iraq

The embassy pointed out that “Mrs. Doha Mohammed designed and led an initiative for the Central Bank of Iraq to create a nationwide credit card infrastructure that facilitates digital salary payments

“These payments establish an auditable pathway that allows the Iraqi government to carry out the continuing difficult and even critical task of clearing its payroll of (space ) employees, ” he added
