Al-Kazemi: The economic crisis facing Iraq is serious and dangerous
The Prime Minister-designate, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, on Monday, held two meetings, discussing the Corona virus file and the economic situation in Iraq.
The media office of the Prime Minister-designate said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that the latter “received at his office in the government palace today, Monday, the Minister of Health and Environment Jaafar Sadiq Allawi, and the Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alak, separately.”
He pointed out that “Al-Kazemi discussed with the Minister of Health the developments of the health situation throughout the country and reassurance on the safety of procedures to confront the Corona pandemic and prevent its spread among citizens and the results achieved, and emphasized the importance of adhering to health guidelines and directives to protect citizens issued by the competent authorities.”
He added, that Al-Kazimi “discussed with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq the economic and financial reality in light of the Corona pandemic and low imports as a result of the decline in global oil prices.”
Al-Kazemi stressed, according to the statement, that “the economic crisis facing Iraq is serious and dangerous, and it must be faced through effective plans and measures, in a manner that guarantees the stability of the economic and living conditions of citizens.” Source
