Baghdad and Erbil are close to reaching an agreement .. oil and crossings in exchange for salaries
The Kurdistan National Union deputy, Sherwan Mirza, announced on Wednesday that an agreement has been reached between Baghdad and Erbil regarding the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region.
Mirza said, “Discussions between the provincial and federal governments are ongoing regarding salaries and several other outstanding issues,” explaining that “the two sides are close to reaching a final agreement.”
He added, that the Kurdistan region agreed to deliver its oil to Baghdad, and an agreement was reached on customs crossings.
To that, an informed source said in an interview with “Mawazine News” that “the agreement includes the delivery of 250 thousand barrels per day to Baghdad and a percentage of the revenues of the border crossings in exchange for a guarantee of delivering the salaries of the region’s employees.” Source
