Blackshart congratulates Eid Al Fitr: Iraq faces multiple challenges that have been exacerbated by Corona
The United Nations Special Representative in Iraq congratulated Blakshart on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, stating that Iraq faces multiple challenges that have been exacerbated by Corona.
She said in a statement that the congratulations included that “Iraq can overcome it in a spirit of unity and solidarity.”
While I used the famous Iraqi phrase used in exchanging congratulations, “Eid Mubarak,” she stated that traditionally Eid Al-Fitr is a happy occasion for families at the end of the blessed month of Ramadan, with celebrations and public outings.
“The celebration will be less this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the accompanying restrictions, which affect our lives in an unprecedented way,” she added.
While stressing that “Iraq faces multiple challenges exacerbated by the epidemic,” she went on to say, “Despite the difficulties, the curfew, the risks to public health and anxiety about the future, I sincerely hope that Eid Al-Fitr will be a renewed source of hope in humanity, and instill optimism for a better future.” Source
