Nouri Al-Maliki: No one has the right to dissolve parliament without the approval of parliament
The leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said on Saturday that the issue of dissolving parliament depends on two phases.
Al-Maliki stated in a post that “Nass” followed, (1 August 2020), “The dissolution of the parliament adopts two phases, the first of which has the right to request the dissolution and the second in the hand of the decision to dissolve. Council approval to dissolve itself. ”
He continued, “The Prime Minister and the President of the Republic have the right to demand only and not the decision to dissolve, and a third of the members of the House of Representatives also have the right to request, but in both cases there is no solution except by a vote of the Council to dissolve itself by an absolute majority of its members.” Source
