Hawrami: The KRG is ready to deliver half of the ports’ imports to Baghdad
The spokesman for the Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Samir Hawrami, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Kurdistan Regional Government is ready to hand over half of the ports’ imports to Baghdad.
Hawrami said in a press statement, followed by “People” (September 10, 2020), “The Kurdistan government has no problem with the prime minister’s visit to Ibrahim al-Khalil port or other border crossings.”
He added, “Kurdistan has informed the federal government that it is ready to jointly manage the crossings between them and hand over 50% of its revenues to Baghdad.”
He pointed out that “if Baghdad decides to send monitoring committees to the crossings, their tasks will be facilitated and cooperation with them in this regard.”
He pointed out that “Al-Kazemi’s visit today focused on many details to solve the problems between Baghdad and Erbil through dialogue, and this will be clear by agreeing on the share of the Kurds in the budget next year, while the region showed its flexibility for full cooperation.” Source
