Statement: Al-Kazemi and his Egyptian counterpart will sign Saturday the joint minutes of cooperation in 4 areas
The Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee for Ministerial Level reviewed the areas of cooperation, understandings, agreements and protocols agreed upon, while the Minister of Planning confirmed the Iraqi government’s keenness on joint Arab action.
The Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that “People” received a copy (October 30, 2020), that “the Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee for the Level of Ministers reviewed memoranda of understanding, agreements and protocols that were drafted and prepared by the committee at the expert level during its meetings over the past two days, in the presence of the Iraqi Minister of Planning. The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, who represented the Minister of Commerce in the chairmanship of the committee for the ministerial level, said in a welcoming speech, that “this meeting is to support the bonds of economic, commercial, scientific and cultural cooperation, to strengthen economic and trade relations, to raise trade exchange and exchange experiences between the two countries,” expressing the “desire and keenness of the government.” On the joint Arab action that is taking place under dynamic international and regional conditions dominated by interconnectedness and integration between countries and peoples of the world.
For her part, the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, affirmed that “Egypt and Iraq are linked by extended historical and cultural ties, and we deal with exchanging projects and agreements with Iraq in various fields, especially since Egypt has witnessed many challenges, but started reforms at various levels, infrastructure, transportation, electricity, and agriculture, and that does not give way to technical support and partnerships.” With states.”
And she continued, “It also seeks to develop a clear and integrated plan with Iraq to implement the projects, agreements and understandings reached by the two sides.”
According to the statement, the head of the expert committee for the Iraqi side, Walid Al-Mousawi, reviewed the memoranda of understanding, the protocols that were prepared to sign in their final form, and the great efforts made by the two sides with the sectors and ministries in both countries, which are 15 memoranda of understanding in various fields of commercial, industrial, agricultural, health, scientific, cultural, investment, energy and infrastructure. Housing, communications, transportation, social affairs and political fields, which are in the interest of Iraq and Egypt.”
The statement indicated that, “tomorrow the prime ministers of both countries will sign the joint report of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee for economic, commercial, scientific and cultural cooperation.” Source
