Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi discussed with US President Mr. Barack Obama by videoconference on Friday how to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields and the war on Daesh terrorist gangs.
The discussion included the victories achieved by the armed forces of the army, the police and the popular mobilisation and the Peshmerga and the sons of the tribes in different areas and especially in Baiji, and they also touched on the general situation in Iraq and the region.
Dr. Haider Al-Abadi stressed on the importance of the international community to stand with Iraq as it faces the terrorism of Daesh gangs and achieve victories against them in spite of the many challenges it faces, noting that Iraq has the determination and the efforts of its sons for the liberation of every inch of the land of Iraq, and building the state and strengthening it.
In turn, President Obama expressed his full support for Iraq in all fields, especially in the field of war on Daesh and that the Iraqi forces and the popular mobilisation showed outstanding ability in Baiji and Ramadi operations, noting that the US administration shows full respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and express our readiness to assist Iraq in the financial crisis, praising Dr. Al-Abadi’s management and unification of the efforts of all components and communities for the liberation of Iraq.
