Iraq looking to develop cooperation with Germany and the European Bank
Search Federal Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari with the European Union mission and the German Ambassador, the development of economic and investment cooperation.
Zebari discussed in a meeting with Constantinos Vardakiz acting European Union mission to Iraq.
During the meeting, Zebari delivered a message to the European Investment Bank related to the development of economic and investment cooperation with the bank mentioned by signing a framework agreement between the two sides and contribute to the development of ways to facilitate the bank’s investment in Iraq.
The Zebari, Iraq’s desire to develop its relations with the bank as one of the EU institutions, which is associated with the Iraq agreement of partnership and cooperation of the site between the two sides in 2012, also addressed the meeting, to the work of European companies operating in Iraq and its role in stimulating the economy, investment and the importance of creating ways to successfully work and the importance of exchange of visits between the EU and the relevant Iraqi authorities.
On the other hand Zebari briefed on the financial situation in Iraq based on the draft 2016 budget and the options in front of the ministry to narrow the financial gap and fill the deficit.
To that received Zebari 2015/10/19 Monday, at the headquarters of the Office of the ministry, Eckhard Preveza German ambassador in Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed economic and financial cooperation between the two countries and the contribution of German institutions in the investment sector in Iraq and the form in which it supports the 2016 budget.
Zebari also made a presentation of the financial situation and the steps taken by the government in order to overcome the financial crisis started.
