Explosion targets Hizbollah office in Tuz Khurmatu, casualties reported

An explosion rocked a Hizbollah Movement office in Tuz Khurmatu on Saturday.

“The explosion occurred inside a weapons cache which belongs to Hizbollah, near the police station … The losses due to the explosion are unknown yet but there are casualties and a number of the injured are hospitalized,” said Mala Karim Shuku, the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan office for Tuz.

The district in Saladin province is disputed and claimed by both Erbil and Baghdad. It has long been a flashpoint for various factions.

There is also a police station near the location of the explosion.

The city is 155 kilometers south of the Kurdistan Region’s capital city of Erbil. Source
