There should be a bit more clarity when referring to banknotes. There is no such thing as ‘Older’ or ‘Newer’ notes per se. Banknotes either belong to a previous series, a previous currency, a new series. or a new currency. The fundamental difference between a revaluation and a redenomination is the former retains the same currency whereas the latter introduces a new currency. There can be some distortion in terms of RD as there is an inherited revaluation of the monetary unit (not the currency) which may be perceived by some as a revaluation.
