Al-Ghanimi: Al-Kazemi is ready to solve all problems with the Kurdistan Region
The Minister of the Interior of the Federal Government, Othman Al-Ghanimi, confirmed on Wednesday the willingness of the President of the Federal Government, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to solve all problems with the Kurdistan Region.
This came during his reception by the head of the regional government, Masroor Barzani, according to a statement issued by the latter’s office, which was received by Shafaq News.
The statement stated that “the meeting discussed the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, and ways to enhance joint security cooperation were discussed in particular in the border areas and the Kurdish areas outside the administration of the Kurdistan Regional Government to address terrorism.”
Al-Ghanmi pointed out “the difficult conditions that Iraq and the Kurdistan Region are going through in light of the Corona virus pandemic in addition to the financial crisis, which requires cooperation and coordination between the two sides to resolve all outstanding differences.”
The Interior Minister said, “Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is ready to solve all problems with the Kurdistan Region.”
For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government expressed readiness to solve the outstanding problems with the federal government in a fundamental way and within the framework of the constitution, in a manner that guarantees the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region and is in the interest of all Iraqis.
Barzani had expressed during his cabinet meeting, earlier Wednesday, his hope to reach a “balanced” agreement with the federal government after the Eid al-Adha holiday. Source
