Al-Kazemi announces the date for early elections
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, decided on Friday the date of the early parliamentary elections.
Al-Kazimi said in a televised address to the Iraqis, followed by Shafaq News, that the early parliamentary elections will be held on the sixth of June 2021.
Al-Kazemi pledged to hold fair elections away from the power of arms.
In his speech, he also mentioned internal and regional intersections and conflicts that once again threaten the security and sovereignty of Iraq, noting at the same time accusations leveled against him and all who approach him before, during and after the formation of the government.
He said that his government faced obstacles during a period of two months of its life, but focused on the main objectives, adding, “We have worked tirelessly to work on a comprehensive reform paper that will revive the Iraqi economy and solve crises.”
He added that the reform “white paper” would introduce projects to address the crisis of the unemployed youth and revive the market and the economy, stressing that there are no solutions to address crises without restoring the prestige of the state. Source
