C-RAM foils a missile attack on the Green Zone and alerts to go to shelters
According to a security military source, the C-RAM missile defense system responded to a bombing that attempted to target the Green Zone.
The source told Shafaq News that the attack was carried out with one Katyusha rocket, according to preliminary information.
He added that sirens were sounded inside the US embassy as a warning to all and to go to the shelters.
The United States has deployed the defense system to several locations in Iraq to repel repeated missile attacks targeting its soldiers and diplomats by factions that Washington says are loyal to Iran.
The attacks specifically target the US embassy in central Baghdad and military bases that include US soldiers and diplomats across the country. Source
