Zero-hour approaches … Europe to withdraw from Iranian nuclear deal, join Trump
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had rejected Iran’s demand for sanctions to be held in exchange for talks, contradicting earlier statements by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The European Union has reportedly threatened to withdraw from a nuclear deal with Iran.
France, Britain, and Germany warned Iran on Wednesday that it would be forced to withdraw from the nuclear deal in November if Tehran continued to take a new step after three steps it has taken since May to cut back its obligations in the nuclear agreement, the Guardian quoted informed sources as saying on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the Iranian president said that the European leaders participating in the United Nations summit in New York said that Washington was ready to lift sanctions in exchange for talks on the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.
Rouhani added in a statement quoted by state television and reported by the French Press Agency: «German Chancellor the British Prime Minister and the French President were there (in New York). “They insisted that this meeting happen and that America also says it will lift the sanctions.”
The response of the US president, who confirmed in a tweet on Twitter, that he never made such an offer. “Iran wanted to lift sanctions against it for a meeting,” Trump wrote: “I said, of course, no!”
Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker said there was international coordination to pressure Iran to prevent it from escalating further in the region.
Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Schenker said that the investigation into the September 14 attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities would soon come to an end. The results would be submitted to the Security Council, so the international community must take a decision towards these Iranian actions.
The Assistant Secretary of State pointed out to a new round of sanctions will be taken by the US administration in the coming period against entities supporting Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The state of escalation is continuing and the zero hours to strike Iran is approaching. Source
