Video: Citizen hits Maliki’s poster with shoe to object to corruption

A footage of an Iraqi citizen hitting the poster of former prime minister Nouri al-Maliki with his shoe went viral on social media, expressing his outrage over the rampant corruption in the country.

The video shows the citizen holding his shoe and hitting the poster of Maliki on the wall, saying: “Corrupt politicians, get out of our lives,” in reference to the terrible conditions of Iraq since Maliki took the office as a prime minister in 2010.

Iraq suffers from a deteriorating conditions ever since Maliki took the office; he let the chance for terrorists to dominate most of the cities, kill citizens and demolish the great heritage of Iraq. He also weakened the army and was responsible for the corruption in most of the state’s institutions, which damaged the economy.

Maliki sought after another term in the office in the next election, to impose the absolute majority scheme to dominate the government with no political partners. Source
