Wisdom Movement to quit its alliance with Saairun Coalition
Wisdom Movement led by Ammar al-Hakim is considering to quit its alliance with Saairun coalition headed by Muqtada al Sadr, according to a source in the movement.
In press statements, the source explained that this comes as a result of the coalition’s cooperation with Fatah Alliance, which is led by Iran-backed Badr militia’s leader Hadi al-Amiri.
The source underlined that the movement had earlier announced its rejection to form an alliance based on sectarian quota.
The Parliamentary elections was marked by record low turnout. It was the first since Iraq declared victory over the ISIS group and the fourth since the 2003 US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein. Source
