French president to visit Iraq this month
French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Iraq during February, a source close to Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi has said.
This month, according to the source, will witness the visit of the French President to Iraq, adding that “the visit will probably take place after the February 15.”
In January, the French Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian paid a visit to Iraq and mentioned that Macron is expected to visit the country seeking expansion of ties with Baghdad.
During a meeting with Abdul Mahdi in Baghdad, Le Drian said that Macron’s expected visit comes to reaffirm support and develop friendly relations, cooperation and partnership between the two countries. Source
