IMF to agree Iraq monitoring program in coming days: Mideast head
The International Monetary Fund will finalize an agreement with Iraq in the coming days for a program to monitor its economy, the fund’s Middle East director said on Tuesday.
The monitoring program would establish a track record of effective performance on the part of the Iraqi authorities which could lead to a finance program being agreed next year, Masood Ahmed told Reuters on the sidelines of a conference in Dubai.
Iraqi authorities agreed last month to have the IMF monitor Baghdad’s economic polices, with the program aimed at reining in spending and reducing Iraq’s budget deficit.

He pointed out that “the members of the state law have exercised pressure on the President of the House of Representatives to reduce the share of the Kurdistan financial but conflicted regional and international pressure on Saleem al-Jubouri to keep the Kurds share 17% of the total public funds.”
He added that “members of the House voted on the financial budget of $ 106 trillion dinars but it is a fake and digital because of the lack Received oil exports from the region and can not be the federal government to export large amounts of oil.”
Thanks BondLady !
Tlm724 — The State Law Coalition is freaking out and it’s of no surprise, it’s Maliki’s last stand ! He is trying to bring down PM Abadi’s GOI .
He is such a DB ! The state law bloc wants to reduce the Kurds % of the budget BUT it won’t happen because within the text of the budget is the Oil Agreement with Baghdad and there is tremendous pressure as we know from the international community to get Iraq up off it’s azz, not to make things worse !
As we see Jubouri will have none of this BS, good man ! If they have the oil agreement and are abiding by it, on both sides, then that will open the door for the HCL approval !!
The end game for Iraq will benefit greatly from the HCL, in particular the people ! This nation needs the added shot in the arm ! Of course Baghdad wants all the oil they were supposed to get but at this point it appears they are more concerned with shoring up this agreement, keeping the Kurds happy and on track and moving the country forward !!

tlm724 this shows us how important the laws are for Iraq. It states that the most important thing for Iraq right now is their sovereignty and stabilizing the country which can be achieved, to an extent , through legislation.
“that “the basic laws the task and that her relationship institutionalized state and the achievement of social justice, such as, oil and gas laws, and accountability and justice, and the prohibition of the Baath Party, and the Federal Court, did not proceed because of the wills of the political authorities and leaders of the blocs that have blocked legislation that important laws.” He is stressing that “Parliament was in the last legislative term more serious and more disciplined and committed to
They are definitely getting there ! Some of the MP’s have come to their senses and realized if I don’t make the change then the country will never change, it’s all or nothing at this point .
