Shybaby: Al-Kadhimi to World Bank Vice President: Iraq on the path to economic reform
Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Tuesday reiterated Iraq’s determination to move forward on the path of economic reform, with long-term visions based on effective solutions.
“Al-Kadhimi received Mr. Farid Belhadj, Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa, and his delegation,” the prime minister’s information office said in a statement. “During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and the World Bank in various programs and areas, with regard to anti-corruption mechanisms and rebuilding the public service structure to increase efficiency, establish sustainable development and optimize investment of human wealth, and discuss some world bank projects in Iraq and agree on ways to reactivate them,” the statement said
“Despite all the challenges, Iraq is determined to pursue the path of economic reform, in accordance with long-term visions based on effective solutions,” al-Kadhimi said in a statement.
Belhadj, for his part, praised the Bank’s historical and strategic relations with Iraq and noted the “solidity of the white reform paper presented by the government, which includes a coherent vision of ambitious economic development that enhances the objectives of good governance.”tnt /
