Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Baghdad
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Baghdad on an official visit at the head of a high-level political and economic delegation.
This is Zarif’s first visit to Baghdad after the formation of the new Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi.
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi said Saturday that the directors of dozens of state and private economic companies would accompany the foreign minister on the visit.
Zarif is due to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Monday, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halboussi and President Barham Salih.
According to the statement of the Iranian embassy in Baghdad, the Iranian foreign minister will visit Erbil on Tuesday and meet with officials in the Kurdistan region, and conclude his visit to Iraq on Thursday. Source
